Looking for some great ways to ring in 2016 with the kids? Check out our list of local family friendly events that are sure to start your new year off right.

Noon Year’s Eve at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. RIng in the “Noon” year with events running from 10am to 1pm. Events include a special wild animal show, ice carving, crafts, music, and a ball drop at noon.

New Year’s Eve at Noon at the Children’s Museum of Cleveland. This is the final New Year’s celebration at the Children’s Museum’s current building. This very special event includes hats, noisemakers, prizes, and a dance party. Count down to 2016 occurs at 11 am, noon, and 1 pm.

New Year’s at Noon at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.  The museum promised this revamped “New Year’s at Noon” will be bigger and better than ever before! From 10am to 1pm you can make noisemakers, party hats and a craft. At noon, there is a dinosaur egg drop.

Kids New Year’s Eve Party at Merwin’s Wharf. Ring in 2016 from 1-7pm with kid-friendly food and drinks. Entertainment includes magic shows, face painting, and balloon twisting. Call for reservations.

New Year’s Party at Chagrin Valley Roller Rink. This is the biggest skate of the year. From 12:30pm to 5pm enjoy games, prizes, and a balloon drop!

Noon Year’s Eve at The Jump Yard.  RIng in the new year with glow items, a balloon drop, and a sparkling toast. THe festivities run from 10am to 2pm.

Popcorn Ball at the Chagrin Falls Township Hall.  This event starts at 9:30pm with light appetizers and drinks and ends at midnight with a popcorn ball drop.

New Year’s Butterfly Release Party at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens from 1-2:30pm. This New Year’s party includes sparkling grape juice, music, dancing, and a butterfly pollination craft.  Children make their own new year’s wish as they release an individual butterfly into the garden.

First Night Akron This is the 20th year of First Night Akron, a family friendly event celebrating the arts in the community.  This event runs from 6pm to midnight and features music, dance, theater, and visual arts.

New Years Eve Countdown and Ball Drop at Swings and Things.  The doors open at 11am. Games and prizes begin at 5pm.  The event concludes with a countdown and balloon drop at 7pm.
